In the context of the EU climate targets, more and more companies are focusing on their own emissions and the possible climate neutrality of their business operations. Calculating the CO2 footprint of their own products (product carbon footprint, PCF for short) plays a major role in this, as it summarizes all direct and indirect emissions along the value chain that can be associated with the product.
Sustainability and environmental protection have in many cases also become a mandatory topic for commercial enterprises. Governments around the world are introducing measures to combat climate change. This includes the introduction of CO2 taxes, a CO2 carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) and other regulations to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Our emission proof covers all phases from the production of raw materials to delivery to the customer. The so-called "cradle-to-gate approach" covers the emission ranges from Scope 1 to 3** (in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol). The calculation of the PCF data therefore takes into account all emissions from upstream and downstream activities, i.e. from raw material extraction to the customer's factory gate.
